Also known as : skinbooster · deep skin hydration

Grouped under this term, various techniques of superficial intradermal injection of lightly cross-linked or non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, sometimes combined with other moisturising agents, differ from filler products in that they aim neither to create volume nor to redraw a contour. Deposited within the thickness of the skin, these formulations seek to act on its hydration and on its quality. Bio-remodelling, for its part, refers to more concentrated formulations whose diffusion into the dermis aims to stimulate its cutaneous mechanisms.

The session begins with a period of examination and cleansing of the skin, then the product is placed in micro-deposits distributed over the treated area, following a pattern that I devise case by case, according to each patient’s skin. An anaesthetic cream may be applied beforehand depending on the situation; a tingling sensation may nonetheless be felt at the moment of the injections. The duration of the session, the number of sessions and their spacing depend on the indication retained and are specified in consultation.

These injections may be envisaged on the face, the neck, the décolleté or the back of the hands. They most often concern dehydrated or dull skin, as well as situations in which it is the texture and the firmness of the skin tissue, rather than volume, that are at issue. When they occur, any effects set in gradually, vary from one patient to another and depend on the initial condition of the skin; no result can be announced in advance.

After-effects may occur. Papules or raised areas may be visible at the injection points, and their course, which varies, is set out to each person during the preliminary interview. Redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising may also appear, as may less frequent complications, which are likewise set out during that interview. A prior consultation is mandatory: it allows the skin to be examined, contraindications to be looked for and what may be envisaged to be discussed. At the end of this discussion, the procedure may be ruled out if it is not indicated, or if another form of care appears better suited to each patient’s situation.
