Facial mesotherapy is a technique of superficial injection which consists in depositing, by means of micro-injections distributed over the area concerned, a solution with a hydrating and revitalising aim into the superficial layers of the skin. It is not a filling procedure: the procedure does not seek to modify the volumes of the face, but to act on the quality, the texture and the surface appearance of the skin. The composition of the solution used is a matter for my judgement, adapted to each situation; it is explained to each person before the procedure, since my aim is to inform the decision before it is entered into.

The session begins with a cleansing of the skin, then the injections are performed point by point over the area retained. A topical anaesthetic may be envisaged depending on the case, and the sensation felt varies from one person to another. The length of the session, the number of sessions and their pacing are not the same for everyone: I specify them in consultation, according to each patient’s skin and to what will have been agreed together.

This approach is principally directed at the face. The situations most often encountered are a dull complexion, skin that lacks hydration, or a surface quality altered by time, sun exposure or lifestyle. The possibility of treating other areas is addressed during the consultation. The response to the treatment varies from person to person: no result can be announced in advance, and mesotherapy may not be indicated in a given person’s case.

After-effects may occur following the session: small visible injection marks, redness, swelling or bruising. Their intensity and their duration, particular to each person, cannot be announced in advance. Other reactions, rarer ones, remain possible and are set out to each patient before any decision; the instructions to follow after the procedure are given in consultation.

A prior consultation is compulsory. It allows the skin to be examined, each person’s request to be heard, any contraindications to be looked for, and information to be given about the after-effects as well as the risks. At the end of this discussion, the procedure may not be retained.
